The role of Reader is to proclaim the word of the Lord during Holy Mass and to lead the responsorial psalm where it is not sung. He or she may also announce the intentions (Bidding Prayers). It is the role of the priest or deacon to proclaim the Gospel.
Readers also receive training and are encouraged to attend an annual retreat.
The Parish enjoys a full range of ministries which complement and enhance our parish liturgies. The ministries include Welcomers and Readers at all three Sunday Masses, Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion and Sacristans at the 8.30 & 11 am Parish Masses.
Children’s Liturgy takes place most Sundays at the 11 am Sunday Mass and fortnightly at the 8.30 Mass. This takes the form of appropriate prayers and scripture reading presented in an easy way to our young people. All our leaders are CRB checked. If you are interested in helping, please let the Parish Priest or Jacqui Moore know.
